The Nepali Tamu Samaj UAE organised a Cultural Evening recently in Abu Dhabi to celebrate the 2590th Lhosar, which is a New Year of the Gurung community.
The programme exclisively attended by the members of the Gurung community working in the UAE was chaired by Mr Yam P Tamu, Chairperson of the Nepali Tamu Samaj in the UAE.
Speaking on the occasion, Madhuban Paudel, Charge d'Affaires of the Royal Nepalese Embassy in Abu Dhabi, commended the efforts of the Gurung community to maintain harmony and to promote and preserve their culture and tradition. He added, the programme is worth emulation to all who wish to live together in a friendly atmosphere far away from home and other groups also could learn a lot from such programmes.
Various Gurung artistes working in different parts of the UAE enthralled the gathering which lasted four hours and ended by a sumptous dinner.
